Handcrafting unique wearable art in all forms comes from with in me. It’s an unstoppable force that drives my creative passion. I imagine your smile when you open your package and feel the texture in your hands. I picture your eyes light up as the colors mix and the image on your screen is now a tangible piece of art. There is something so exciting about new innovative designs, they seem to come from a magical place where inspiration and love meet.
💙I was born to be an Artist. From the moment I could hold a pencil my imagination has flowed into design. I have a BFA in textile design, talk about the perfect College major! It’s 1992 and this Jersey girl from outside NYC heads to south Jesery farmtown and finds the Grateful Dead. Mix this with my first courses of Study, Tie Dye And Batik And my soul awakened as I began to find myself. I started sewing fun hippie clothes in 1999 as a hobby. In 2005 I made it my full time job as a began my life as the only parent to my daughter. Fibromyalgia came on at this time as well, But over the years I’ve learned to manage it the best way possible. Becoming a mom really focused my creative drive to be successful and happy. My customers keep coming back year after year because I have always sewn from my heart. My cloththing is durable well made and comfortable. My eye for color mixed with my passion for collecting the most amazing fabrics from around the world, both vintage and new, makes my style stand out in the crowd. I want you to feel like a shinning star when you put on a Phatcatpatch Dress. As I sew your item, I imagine how you plan to use it. Is it for you or a Gift for special friend? Do you have a show coming up you plan to wear it to? I get really excited when I’m customizing it to your uniqueness. Maybe at 4’11” dresses are always to long and you’ve never had something made just for you. In this modern world of mass production a handmade creation you can wear and feel special in is rare.
💙My shop has evolved through the years and I never know what will inspire me tomorrow. I’m so grateful that God gave me this gift and I work very hard to be the best at what I do.

💙A little bit about my Fibromyalgia struggle - for several years I had to give up sewing. I had a hair feather worlwind shop in 2011, after that I began making scarves as it was less painful to sew smaller items. Chevron scarves were flying out the door. My business grew overnight. I've always put my heart into everything I do. Customer satisfaction has always been the most important leader in my business as well as being honest. I have had over 21,000 sales because of this ( it still blows my mind that I hand crafted most of these items ) My customers know I will make that extra effort to ensure they are Happy.
My greatest flaw is working to hard. When you run your own business there is no weekend. I have to constantly remind myself to take breaks, Fibromyalgia needs to be respected. It will tear you apart if you let it. I struggle everyday with my drive to create and this illness that dictates how may days will go. I still tend to push myself to hard but have my ice packs and heating pads ready to go at any moment.
💙2014* Recently I began Designing fabric online and found another side to my creative drive. I decided to live and work as happy as possible. By combining all my favorite things into my designs I feel my spirit rejuvenated. My heart belongs to the Grateful Dead but not being able to dance was really hard on my spirit. This was a spiritual experience for me where I connected with another plan of existence. Being able to incorporate this love into my designs had brought me back to myself.
💙AROUND 2015 I slowly started making Dresses and skirts again as I found swimming to really ease my pain. ITS BEEN AN AMAZING COUPLE YEARS! My Customers are so sweet, my custom dress wait list has been consistently 2-3 months out on orders with more coming in. I sew everyday and rarely take a day off. It's hard for me to take a break when I know you’re waiting on your custom dress. It can be overwhelming at times, but I'm so grateful for the Love you feel towards my Art. I have perfected my dancing dresses over the last 26 years of sewing. I don't use patterns, I paint with my beautiful fabric collection. I put my heart and soul into every piece of Wesrable Art I make. I have made over 3000 one of a kind dresses and have a 5 star review rating.
💙2025-I have closed custom dresses for the time being, I'm allowing myself to create by what I'm inspired freely. Come by my Facebook business page. I'll post a new dress there about once a week for sale. @hippieclothesbyphatcatpatch
