We help old books tell new stories!
Postscript Journal Co. grew out of my love for old things. I grew up in a very rural community where we always made our own clothes, canned our own food, raised animals, tended a garden. We lived in a time and space where neighbors were lifelong friends and yours, mine and ours really was yours, mine and ours. At the time I didn't realize how out of the ordinary my childhood was. As life would have it, you grow, mature, and do new things. That's the way it should be. Those moments of your past don't fade, they become a part of your story. That's what I tell myself anyway. I've always enjoyed bringing back the very best of times long past. I love old things and believe the scars they carry tell a beautiful story of the life they've lived. Postscript Journal Co. grew out of this passion. I was at an estate sale of a family member when I saw the number of old books, some from my childhood, that were destined for destruction. For the past 75 years or more, these books had told their original story, but no one wanted them. Their value in today's terms was not "enough." And there it was, my opportunity to help these books tell another story.
That's where Postscript Journal Co. started and continues to this day. Just as the name implies, a postscript is something that comes after. A little note that is added to the end to tell the fuller story. At Postscript Journal Co. each journal cover is rescued and rebound to begin a new journey, to tell a new story. I select each book for the way it speaks to me. I love to flip through the old pages to get a picture of what it was and what it could be again. When the opportunity is right, I love to include select pages from the original story and place them into the new journal. It's just my way of honoring what was and making it a part of what is to come. Creativity knows no bounds. Each journal is hand-stitched, unique, one-of-a-kind. Every journal that Postscript Journal Co. makes has already told one story, and if you're lucky, the next story might be yours.
