Behind QLADDY are us – Maddy and QLaura. Two people who come from different worlds and have different perspectives, but complement each other wonderfully in precisely that way.
Maddy brings clarity, structure, and an analytical perspective. She asks questions, challenges assumptions, categorizes information, and loves making things understandable and tangible.
QLaura brings intuition, creativity and a fine sense for moods, spaces in between and that which often cannot be immediately put into words.
We are united by our shared curiosity about life, about consciousness, and about the question of what we are actually doing here and how we can grow honestly, connected and with (at least most of the time) joy.
QLADDY grew out of conversations that had depth but were never heavy. Out of laughter, reflection, and the desire to create a space where all of that has room.
Transparency & Responsibility
We want to be transparent about where our products come from and how they are made. Not because everything is perfect, but because we believe that conscious choices begin with honesty.
Why we work with print-on-demand
Our products are only manufactured once they are ordered. This means:
• no overproduction
• no stock
• No throwing away of unsold goods
Print-on-demand is a way for us to conserve resources and only produce what is truly needed. Especially for a small label, this is the most responsible way to start.
Our materials – GOTS-certified organic cotton
For our T-shirts, we use textiles made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. The Global Organic Textile Standard is one of the strictest certifications in the textile sector and verifies, among other things, the following along the entire supply chain:
• organic cotton farming
• environmentally friendly processing
• restricted use of chemicals
• Minimum social standards and occupational safety
• regular independent audits
GOTS is not a perfect system, but it is currently one of the most transparent and comprehensive standards in the textile industry.
Production in Bangladesh
The textiles are manufactured by our partner company in Bangladesh, one of the world's leading textile production centers. We understand that this is a sensitive issue. Therefore, we have consciously chosen GOTS-certified products, which are verified to meet both environmental and social standards. For us, it's not just where the products are made that matters, but also the conditions under which they are produced. Printing and shipping are then handled in Europe by our print-on-demand partner, TPOP.
Why we still chose this path
Completely local production is currently hardly feasible in the print-on-demand sector. The alternative would be large pre-production runs, warehousing, and potentially unsold goods. Our solution is therefore a deliberate middle ground:
• certified materials
• Production only upon order
• Printing and shipping in Europe
• Transparent communication instead of promises of perfection
A small contribution that goes back
Since our textiles are manufactured in Bangladesh,
We also want to consciously give something back.
That's why we donate €1 for every T-shirt sold to a social project in Bangladesh that supports education and living conditions there. This isn't compensation or a perfect solution – but a concrete step towards not just talking about responsibility, but also living it.
We chose the aid organization JAAGO not only because it operates on a small, local scale, but also because part of its focus is on education and women. In our opinion, both of these areas are crucial for achieving equality, opportunities, and personal development. We are convinced that giving young people access to education creates a ripple effect, meaning that supporting one person can have far-reaching consequences. Furthermore, we are both young women ourselves, currently building our own businesses, and we want all women in the world to be able to realize their ideas and dreams.
This requires a starting point, and what better place to start than by investing in women's rights and protection?!
Our stance
When we sat down and considered what QLADDY stood for, we imagined what QLADDY would be like as a person and agreed that this person would stand up for their values and at the same time be approachable, honest, fair, and supportive.
and would live as sustainably as possible.
And that is precisely what we are trying to achieve with our decision to have the textiles produced in Bangladesh and, at the same time, to consciously demonstrate a certain form of solidarity through the donations, as well as to advocate for and uphold fair conditions.
• kein Wegwerfen unverkaufter Ware
Unsere Materialien – GOTS-zertifizierte Bio-Baumwolle
Produktion in Bangladesch
• zertifizierte Materialien
• Produktion nur bei Bestellung
• Druck und Versand in Europa
• transparente Kommunikation statt Perfektionsversprechen
