Een van de redenen waarom glas mijn favoriete medium is, is het vermogen om een diepte van ontwerp toe te staan die niet haalbaar is in de meeste andere kunsten. Het is dit dat me gefascineerd en geabsorbeerd houdt door smeltend glas. Ik had mijn eerste les in 2009 en heb sindsdien niet meer achterom gekeken en ik werk nu fulltime met glas. Ik woon aan de kust in Noord-Devon, Verenigd Koninkrijk aan een getijdenriviermonding en dicht bij de zee en, zoals veel kunstenaars, is mijn werk sterk beïnvloed door de steeds veranderende landschappen en getijden, de kleuren en het gebladerte dat de seizoenen brengen. Het is de driedimensionale kwaliteit van glas die me echt fascineert.
My Beads zijn bekroond, unieke stukken. Elk is met liefde gemaakt en het meest beïnvloed door het kustgebied waar ik woon en loop.
Ik ben een professioneel lid van de International Society of Glass Bead makers en Co Regional Director voor de internationale regio. Ik geef regelmatig les in mijn eigen studioworkshop en bezoek andere studio's om les te geven. Mijn werk is onlangs gekozen om te figureren in een permanente tentoonstelling in het Corning Museum of Glass als onderdeel van de ISGB Presidents Collection 2015.

One of the reasons glass is my medium of choice is its ability to allow a depth of design which is not achievable in most other arts. It is this that keeps me fascinated and absorbed with melting glass. I had my first class in 2009 and have not looked back since and I now work with glass full time. I live on the coast in North Devon, UK on a tidal river estuary and close to the sea and, like a lot of artists, my work is heavily influenced by the ever changing landscapes and tides, the colours and foliage that the seasons bring. It is the three dimensional quality of glass that really fascinates me.
My Beads are award winning, one of a kind pieces. Each one is made with love and most influenced by the coastal area I live and walk in.
I am a Professional Member of the International Society of Glass Bead makers and Co Regional Director for the International region. I regularly teach in my own studio workshop as well as visiting other studios to teach. My work has recently been chosen to feature in a permanent exhibition at the Corning Museum of Glass as part of the ISGB Presidents Collection 2015.
