I’m building an empire of sustainable and empowering solutions for people who menstruate, challenging outdated norms and offering products that truly make a difference.

As a child, I spent countless hours playing with bins of my Oma’s fabric remnants, often while dressed in clothing made by my mom. That love for fabrics and creativity led me to design school and eventually into the wardrobe departments of film sets and theaters. After years of 90-hour weeks, I was burned out and ready to start a family. I realized I needed a career that would allow me to balance my passion for creativity with the flexibility to prioritize my family, sparking my transition into entrepreneurship. That’s when I followed my entrepreneurial spark and launched an interior design business. Before long, I was selling custom drapes and fabric covers at high-end design shops across Ontario. Design and creation aren’t just hobbies for me—they’re a part of who I am.

Then came a life-changing diagnosis of a brain tumor that upended everything for me and my growing family. It forced me to re-evaluate everything I was bringing into our home—from cleaning supplies to food to personal care items, and yes, even period products. What I found was alarming: disposable pads and tampons often contain harmful chemicals like dioxins and synthetic fragrances, along with plastic components that contribute to environmental waste. That’s when Red Cat Cloth was born.

With the help of friends and family, I tested every version of my reusable pads—refining the materials, adjusting the thickness and design, and perfecting the absorbency. I’ll never forget the time my sister-in-law gave me her honest feedback after trying an early prototype during a camping trip. She pointed out areas where the absorbency fell short and suggested tweaks to the fabric’s texture, which led to one of the biggest breakthroughs in the design process. After years of coping with illness, channeling my energy into revolutionizing menstrual products helped me reclaim my entrepreneurial spirit. I’ve traded my serial workaholic tendencies for a deeper appreciation of patience and rest, but my vision for the future is bigger than ever—building a world where period products are sustainable, accessible, and free of stigma, while empowering people to demand better for their health and the environment.

I’m teaching my children and my customers to break taboos, talk openly about their periods, and advocate for healthier options. I’m demanding better for people who menstruate—products that are safe for our bodies and the planet—by leading the change myself.
