Life Long Passion Turned Dream Come True
My creative journey started at birth. I always declared that I would be some sort of artist making my living doing something I loved. With a love and passion for the arts, that was nurtured by loving parents, nothing was going to stop me from achieving my goal. As my dad always told me, "If you do something you love it’s not work".
I never would have expected that when I entered the workforce after high school my first job would be selling screen-printing and sign supplies! After almost 10 years working in the sign industry I moved from reception, to production, to designer, and eventually project manager. During this time, I was also attending BCIT, where I received an Associate’s Certificate in Graphic Design. With an understanding of the sign industry, and an education under my belt, I was ready to start my own business journey doing something I truly loved, decals.
Being a creative person, I could not just stop at vinyl decals though. I needed to do more, to make more, and to learn more. So, over the years, I have experimented by adding and removing various types of products from my shop. I stated with vinyl decals but quickly added signs, acrylic paintings, jewelry, home decor, and even needlework such as cross-stitch and crochet/amigurumi, but who knows what else will be added.
Many years after starting my business journey it has become clear that there is no project too big, too small, or off limits at SLD.
