Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I love doing custom orders. Please reach out to me directly with what you have in mind! Images are super helpful.

Wholesale availability

I am happy to discount for large and/or bulk orders. Bulk discount pricing with earrings begins at 35 pairs (mixed or the same style).
Please reach out to me directly for pricing.

Shipping Internationally

Unfortunately, Etsy struggles with estimating shipping internationally in my shop. I am happy to ship internationally with pricing ranging typically between $25 USD and $65 USD depending on the order.

There are two ways to handle international shipping - 1) you can place your order and I will refund the difference (this is my shop policy and I will uphold it), or 2) I am happy to set up a custom listing for you with the accurate price of the shipping included.

To give an idea of cost, I can fit about 40-60 pairs of earrings in a Flat Rate Small International mailer, which costs about $25 USD to ship. For larger or heavier items, the pricing will be on the higher end - ranging from $45-65 USD.

Note Regarding Sublimation and Use of Heat Press

All Swimming in Color products are sold and intended for fluid artists. While this is the same cast acrylic that is industry used and available for laser cutting, and some have had great success with sublimation on these blanks, I cannot guarantee any results. Cast acrylic is inherently heat malleable - 1/8" cast acrylic can be easily bent with direct heat from a heat gun. Please keep that in mind before purchasing as I am unable to offer refunds on used product.

Recommendations When Working with Alcohol Ink

Keep back masking paper on to protect the back until finishing steps are completed.

1) After artwork is completed, set inks with 2-3 thin, even, and light coats of Krylon Kamar Varnish.

2) Alcohol inks are sensitive to the exposure of sunlight, so protecting the piece with Krylon UV Resistant Spray is recommended.

3) Finally, if a glossy coat is desired, resin can be applied directly on top, and wiping the edges. Once cured, additional excess can be peeled away, along with the protective masking paper on the back.

Recommendations on Finishing the Backs

There are many options for handling the backs of pieces.

- Keeping the clean acrylic back - some artists like to keep the backs plain and sign them with an archival alcohol-based pen.

- Applying alcohol ink to backs - after fronts are sealed, alcohol ink can be applied carefully to the backs with a brush

- Spray painting - after fronts are sealed, carefully placing pieces face down on a surface (keep fronts directly on a surface like a paper towel or piece of cardboard to prevent spray paint from blowing back on fronts), you can spray backs and sides either gold, silver, or a complementary color. If spray-painting, be sure to use an acrylic spray sealer to seal spray paint.
