What if I'm local? Do I still have to pay for shipping?

No. If you contact me in advance, I can remove the shipping charges on the listing and reserve it for you. Or, I can refund the shipping charges after you've purchased your cards. Then, we can arrange local pickup.

How do you determine pricing?

Materials, level of detail (whether printed in black and white or color or hand lettered, for instance), quantity, production time, and popularity (whether seasonal or otherwise in demand). Although it only costs 0.78 to mail a first-class letter today, vintage stamps are often worth many times their face value, hence the inflated cost of a stamp collage.

Will the postal service deliver stylized envelopes with hand lettering, vintage stamp collages, etc.?

Speaking from experience, yes! Although The Scripted Post is ultimately not responsible for items mailed through the USPS, the Magic 8-Ball says: Outlook Good. Envelopes in the shop purchased with stamps include first-class postage (face value: 0.78; up to 1 oz.). I always recommend handing off elaborate mail art to a postal worker and asking that stamps be hand canceled.

Custom and personalized orders

I welcome custom orders for all occasions: personalized cards (even just one!), stationery, and invitations. I really enjoy creating mail art with special themes in mind, whether decorated with hand lettering or printed, and with illustrative elements/flourishes and vintage stamp collages. The possibilities are endless and not limited to what you see in the shop. You can find more examples of my work on Facebook and Instagram.
