Welcome to Wingbones! The goodies you will find here are inspired by our winged friends of California, and the practice of the sit spot. Not long ago, I challenged a bunch of folx to a 33-day Sit Spot Challenge: go outside every day, for at least 20 minutes, for 33 days in a row, and give your attention to the more-than-human world. Be curious about the birds and the weather and the insects and plants and other beings and your own internal landscape. Ideally, sit in the same spot (easy to get to) so you can notice patterns over time. This practice has ushered me into a love-affair with birds, who in turn teach me about and connect me with all of life. To those humans who completed the challenge, I offered an original painting of a native CA bird. Here at Wingbones are high-quality digital prints of those paintings.
