Edit: The recipient, my boss, LOVED it. It's hanging in his office and coworkers have been complimenting it daily since Christmas.

Album Art x Cross Stitch

I'm Alex, aka bad grandma.
I've been cross stitching for years and finally decided to start creating my own patterns. I wanted to create a series of finished pieces that fit into a theme—I'm a music lover and have always been drawn to the diverse range of album art, so it felt like a natural choice to turn album covers into cross stitch patterns!
I've completed my share of large pieces, but wanted to keep these projects small so I could stitch as many as I could! That's why I made all these patterns 5x5 inches on 14-count aida, which comes out to 70x70 stitches. I also limited them to under 30 thread colours. This relatively low resolution means the finished pieces aren't carbon-copies of the original art, but there's no mistaking these patterns! I love the pixelated look, so I actually prefer the low-res option in this case.
Many of my patterns have a solid white or black background, which helps cut down on the stitch time even more. Each of my patterns should take anywhere from 5 to 20 hours to stitch.
