I paint in oils and have made the landscape surrounding the community I live in my inspiration. The town is surrounded by trails, cutblocks and logging roads that offer opportunities to explore and appreciate the growth of these young forests; nearby lakes open up the landscape offering endless abstracted scenes on the lake surface. Inspiration is always nearby.
I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alberta in 1993, I then went into forestry and spatial data analyis which brought me to north-central British Columbia and has kept me here for over two decades. In 2020 I switched my career to that of a full-time artist due to an injury, I am pleased to share with you my artwork, glicee prints and cards on Etsy as of January 2023, my website www.pricklyrosestudio.ca is currently inactive, it will live again with a shift from e-commerce to a much more simple site where you can find archived paintings, curriculum vitae, artist statement and other information.
