A passion for printmaking and an artists community inspired Spark Box Studio

In 2009 Chrissy Poitras and Kyle Topping opened Spark Box Studio - an artist residency program and print shop. Over the past five years they have hosted over hundred artists through their residency program and have continued their own fine art and craft practices.

Surrounded by farmers fields and fresh country air the two work in their own personal styles tying their fine art practice into their crafts.

For Kyle this is a cross section of art, science and a little bit of humour. In his pieces he uses vintage illustrations to create new scientific truths.

For Chrissy this is a study of shape, colour and line as she works with her abstract marks to create textiles for the home.
