Third Fire Decals specializes in ceramic overglaze decals, designed to become a permanent, food-safe, and lead-free part of your pottery after kiln firing.

Individual decal elements typically ranging from 1 to 3 inches in size, though they can be bigger or smaller. For the most vibrant results, we highly recommend applying these decals to light-colored glazes. The color white does not print, it will take on the color of the underlying glaze. Please exercise caution with darker glazes, as results can be unpredictable; testing beforehand is highly recommended. The print area is approximately 8 x 10.5 inches on the decal sheets. Decals are best applied to flat surfaces or round mugs.

Application Instructions:

Carefully cut the desired decal from the sheet.
Submerge the decal in slightly warm or room temperature water for 30-45 seconds.
Gently blot or squeegee all water from beneath the decal.
Allow the decal to dry completely overnight.
Fire your pottery in the kiln and witness the magic unfold!

Recommended Firing Schedule:

Cone Fire: Fast fire to Cone 015
Programmable Schedule:
Segment 1: Ramp at 570°F/hr to 1206°F
Segment 2: Ramp at 200°F/hr to 1456°F
No hold times

The above is an example of a firing schedule. For manual kilns or experimental firing, the final firing temperature should be in the range of 1450°F -1580°F
