"Phenomenal product. I use my retroid when I hunt, so I needed something to quiet the clack of the button return. With the kit that is sent, you can choose the level of quiet/sensitivity you want in your buttons. Since you’re essentially pre-loading the button stroke, moving to the thicker pads will both increase sensitivity and reduce noise. Can do the D-pad and buttons different thicknesses, etc. Disassembly of the device is required, but it’s super easy. Absolutely will buy a kit for any handheld device I purchase in the future."

"I picked up this kit because I wasn't able to make it to Defcon this year. It's a microcontroller-driven version of a blue box which, while not a perfect emulation of the original device sounds good and assembles in a straightforward fashion. I found the assembly instructions as a Youtube video a bit odd, but I guess that's the nature of things these days. It took me less than an afternoon to assemble and test the 'box and it was time well spent. I would go so far as to recommend this as a good introductory electronics kit if you've never soldered before due to its relative simplicity. My one quibble is that the battery holder is in an awkward position on the back (which makes it hang a little oddly) but I can't think of a better way of mounting it in this design, either. The 'box was a lot of fun to build and play with."
