I began drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon, and I have been creative ever since. I was an art and home economics major in college, and began to sew professionally soon after graduation.
I worked for a national costume company, then ventured into wedding gowns, and later took classes in porcelain dollmaking. I eventually opened my own unique shop in the historic district of our town where we specialized in original wedding gowns and costumes. Many were historical or fantasy creations.
After my sons convinced me to enter the world of Azeroth in the amazing game "World of Warcraft" I saw what an opportunity existed to pair my talents with the inspiration of characters from the game. My first "Wowzer" was born and there are several others in the works.
I will be offering an assortment of my fantasy dolls as well as one-of-a-kind sewn garments from wedding gowns to vintage style aprons, to anime costumes. I inherited several boxes of vintage calico quilt fabrics from my mother, who was an avid quilter, so I am now making one-of-a-kind children's outfits and other surprises with these wonderful prints. There are enough to keep me busy for many months to come.
I also have many vintage sweaters and other items that I will be repurposing into exciting new designs. I have been collecting antique lace and vintage textiles for over 30 years and making new creations from them long before "upcycling" became popular, but I am pleased to see that many others are now following this trend. I was delighted to discover the original works of Katwise, whose Etsy shop is always full of wonderful new surprises. She has inspired me and many others to create interesting new items from what could have become just more landfill. I tip my hat, or should I say my hood, to Kat for her generous spirit in sharing her ideas and techniques with us.
One of my favorite things since childhood has been a kaleidoscope, with the brilliant rainbow colors and ever-changing symmetrical designs. I love beautiful colors in nature, in art, in everything, so I decided to call my new creations "Kaleidoscope Wear". The circular skirts of some of the sweater coats swirl out to make beautiful kaleidoscope designs, so it seems fitting. My website of the same name will be live soon, so check back.
I have added a new page at Facebook where I can show many more pictures. Many of my customers are local and as such do not purchase through Etsy so they cannot leave feedback here, but some of their creations are pictured at my Facebook page. Please "like" me there:

I take commissions, so feel free to inquire. Just about anything you see here or elsewhere can be created to please your specific tastes. Everything is produced in my studio, which is smoke-free and pet free.
We recommend storing your sweater coats flat, and any that have polymer clay buttons should not be dry cleaned. I suggest hand wash and dry flat, or gentle cycle warm wash and gentle warm air dry if you use machines. All sweaters have been prewashed with my own all-natural soap for maximum shrinkage, but as there are several fibers combined in one garment, we cannot guarantee against further shrinkage or stretching, so please be advised to take care with your garment for longevity. Feel free to ask questions for further clarification.
