Acts of Kare: Leading with Love
Acts of Kare was officially started in June 2014 but struggled to get off the ground or make progress. The heart to help has been present for much longer, with the idea of an organization to assist people beginning in 2011. After experimenting with various names, it wasn’t until 2013 that the vision solidified. During a challenging time of being laid off with a pregnant wife, it became clear that financial issues, like a broken computer, could fall into a gap where assistance wasn’t readily available. This realization, coupled with hearing people discard perfectly usable computers, sparked the mission to repurpose these devices for those in need.
Remember, ‘Acts of Kare’ is a good reminder that everything will be ‘A OK’. We stand behind our work, but more importantly, we care about connecting and helping you, whether through collaboration with other organizations or individually.
We are a family-owned and people-over-profit focused organization dedicated to providing acts of kindness and support to communities. As a pansexual, pangender, polyamorous veteran, the founder seeks to support queer creators (including self), provide queer merchandise, and community support. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and understood.
