Frequently asked questions

Are you the author of all the fine art photography prints which you sell?

Yes.

How is it possible that you have so many Iceland prints in your portfolio?

I have been traveling around Iceland since 2014 to capture its serene beauty. I have lived in such spectacular places like a farm right next to the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, by a fjord in a small fishing village of Siglufjörður in the North, and also in the East Fjords. I have traveled extensively all over the island, both by car and on foot, in order to take all the photographs which you can see in my shop.

How are you able to deliver photography prints so fast all over the world?

I ship the prints with FedEx. This company is very reliable when it comes to international express shipping, and my prints are delivered within a few business days all over the world.

Do you use a print on demand service?

No, I print all my photographs in a local print lab which specializes in fine art prints. I want to have a full control over the whole process and inspect the quality of my photography prints. And last but not least, all of my prints are hand-signed, so I couldn't use a print on demand service.

Are your fine art prints shipped flat or rolled in a tube?

All of my art prints up to 12x16" are shipped flat. And everything bigger than 12x16" is rolled in a cardboard tube.

When it comes to my canvas prints, they are stretched on a wooden stretcher, so they are all shipped flat.

Is your packaging secure?

Yes, I package my prints securely with the highest care and I've never had any issues with prints arriving damaged.

Prints which are shipped flat go in between two pieces of thick cardboard, into a plastic sleeve, a flat paper box, and an envelope or another paper box. It is impossible to bend them.

Prints which are shipped rolled are covered with a tissue paper, and packed in a sturdy cardboard tube, which goes into a paper box.

Canvas prints are covered with a tissue paper, go in between two pieces of 5-layer cardboard, and are wrapped in durable wrapping paper.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

Yes, I care about our fragile planet and I don't want all these beautiful landscapes which I capture in my photography to disappear. That's why whenever I can, I try to minimize use of plastic. Almost all of my packaging can be recycled. I use paper boxes, paper tape, wrapping paper, tissue paper. Unfortunately, prints are very fragile, so I can't exclude plastic completely. I don't want you to get a wet, damaged print, that's why prints which are shipped flat go into a plastic sleeve.

What is the difference between photo posters and fine art photography prints?

Fine art photography prints are printed using archival pigment inks (at least 8 different inks, 12 in my case) on highest quality archival paper. They are made to last for decades and longer. Fine art prints will not start to fade or change colors for at least 100 years. They offer an exceptional visual experience with fantastic smooth gradations and vivid colors.

Photo posters are printed on non-archival paper with non-archival inks (usually 4-6 inks). After a few years they start to fade. Both colors and gradations are of much lower quality.

In contrast to photo posters, fine art photography prints are hand-signed by the artist and are exhibited in art galleries. A fine art print is a piece of art, a photo poster is not.

Why you don't offer your photographs as digital downloads?

I only sell fine art photography prints, and I'm not planning to sell digital downloads. I want my collectors to get the highest quality hand-signed artwork, and not a mere photo poster.
