    Owner, Fiber Artist

I believe that there is beauty all around us. Seeing vibrant colors in my art and in pictures done by Monet reminds me that there is good in this world if we just look for it. Most of the items I make reflect the good I see in the world.

Ginny owns the Welsh Mountain Sheep that I get my black wool from. They are well cared for and have a pasture to roam around in. She also helps clean the wool after it has been sheared off the sheep.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the price x?

Everything in my shop is made by hand, which can take several hours to several days to complete. The tools I use are also good quality, so they are pretty expensive as well. It also costs a fair amount to purchase the materials, so I charge for the materials, the a small percentage of the cost of the tools, and something for my time. It usually ends up being 3-4 times the cost of the materials, which is pretty standard in the fiber art industry.

How long is the skein of yarn?

Every skein of yarn is unique, but I use my niddy noddy to get the length of the yarn. Each wrap around the niddy noddy is 34 inches, so I multiply 34 by the number of times it goes around the niddy noddy to figure out how many inches, feet, and yards the yarn is.

Care instructions

For items made from the hand spun yarn and the yarn spun from the rolags, I highly recommend hand washing them by hand and drying flat if they need to be washed.

For the items made from yarn I didn’t spin, it’s okay to put them in the wash, but don’t use high heat in the dryer. You may also want to use a fabric softener to keep them feeling soft. I don’t recommend putting them in the washing machine or dryer with any Velcro because it could damage it if it gets stuck.
