Something About Me
Arts and crafts have always been something I enjoyed. I grew up in a large city with lots of museums of different cultures - and I spent a lot of time there. Eastern, Western, clothes, artifacts, you name it. I still study that - world culture is a big subject to study.
Meanwhile, all the female ancestors of mine that I know of had to make things to be worn by themselves and their families (while my head was in education and museums, for which I feel a bit ashamed). They did it in their spare time and out of necessity - and never really had the luxury to be able to ponder whether they liked doing it or not. I have had that luxury, and I do like it - a lot. Being able to make things and sell them is quite a priviledge - and every time an item sells I do that little dance, my husband says 'good job' and my children congratulate me. More than that, I feel my female ancestors standing behind me nodding with approval. And my tech savvy elderly mother, who lives in a different country, checks the shop every day and often learns the news faster than I do. 🙂
My work is fusion of cultures with attention to detail. I aim to make my products easily wearable and as comfortable as the design can allow (I myself am kind of old and very much into comfort). I don't list items I am not proud of. I do not overprice things. I pack my items well and use as much recycled packaging materials as possible without diverting from the main purpose (safe and presentable packaging). I respect my clients and appreciate thar they choose to spend their money on my products - and I expect to be treated with equal respect in return. My accessories are meant to give my clients an extra bit of happiness, and therefore - perhaps just a little - increase the total amount of happiness in the world.
