** ALL SEED IS NON-GMO! ** NO PLANT SALES - ONLY SEED! **
Thank you to all my loyal customers who have helped my business grow and become what it is today! Please always feel free to contact me with any questions about your purchase. I am always available to help.
All seed is fresh and Crystal Moon Botanicals is not responsible for non-germination of seed, but please contact us with any germination issues. Due to significant variables in germination methods, i.e. light, temperature, moisture, etc. no refunds will be issued due to non-germination of seed. Please read germination instructions and research seed starting methods for best germination. I am always available to help with any questions you have about germination.
Regarding germination, please read the instructions on my Etsy site and on the seed packets. With over 25 years of seed-germinating experience, we provide the best and simplest method of germination. If further information is needed, please either contact us and we will get back to you promptly, or utilize the internet for the wealth of information provided.
Of note, we strive to provide accurate seed counts and we use various methods of seed counting - by hand and by volume (usually reserved for large quantities). Therefore all seed counts are an estimate only, but we strive to over-count each packet of seed. If you find a LARGE discrepancy in the seed from what is advertised, Please contact us first before placing a negative review so that the problem can be resolved. Thank you for understanding.
Regarding storage of seed, the preferred method is in a refrigerator between 35-38 deg. F. Keep seed in original envelopes, place inside a zip-loc bag (even double bagged to protect from moisture) and place in the refrigerator. Do NOT freeze your seed during storage! Freezing seed can kill the seed by bursting the membrane. Seed kept at temperatures over 95 deg. F. for an extended time will cause damage. Try to keep your seed in storage at a constant temperature for the best viability. Crystal Moon Botanicals is not responsible for low (or no) germination rates of seed that has been stored. It is recommended that seed be sown as soon as possible after receipt. Regarding the subject of seed storage, in the spring of 2022, I finally managed to test all of my really old personal stock of seed (as far back as 2006!) and 90% had a high germination rate!
*** OF NOTE:
Please don't confuse seed storage in a cool environment inside the packet with Cold Stratification. Cold stratification is the method of mixing the seeds with damp sand or potting mix and placing in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator or cold garage for a specified period of time to enhance germination. All listings will state in the germination instructions Cold Stratification if it is required, with instructions on this method of germination.
For all my customers who had their items shipped with a tracking number starting with 003. Please petition Etsy to find another shipping partner for small items shipped with tracking. I am trying to bring shipping costs down, but due to an excessive amount of "lost in the mail" and "Tracking not available" I am forced to ship everything including 1 packet seed orders with USPS Ground Advantage.
Currently this is the state of affairs with their shipping partner Pitney Bowes:
Etsy orders using Pitney Bowes "letter" tracking often show in Milwaukee (or other hubs) because these labels use Intelligent Mail barcodes intended for automated sorting machines, not human USPS scans. The "Delivered" scan frequently happens at a final regional sorting facility 2–3 days before it actually arrives in your local mailbox.
Key Reasons for Milwaukee Scans:
• Regional Hub Sorting: The tracking scan in Milwaukee indicates it has reached a sorting facility, not that it is staying there. It is still in transit to your local post office.
• Misinterpreted Scans: Pitney Bowes tracking is "in-sync" with Etsy, but not fully with USPS. It often marks an item as "Delivered" when it actually just passed through a final processing hub.
• Pre-Transit Glitch: Due to inconsistent scanning, items often stay in "pre-transit" even after delivery, or show incorrect location scans.
These letters are treated differently than packages. The tracking is often a "best guess" based on when it passes through a facility. It is common for these to take a few extra days to arrive after the tracking looks "stuck" or "delivered" at a distribution center.
