Custom Nib Cutting: We are happy to custom-cut the nib (tip) of your Qalam Pen to your preferred size and angle (e.g., 2mm, 3mm, 5mm). Please select the "Custom Size" variant or leave a detailed note during checkout with the exact dimensions you require.

Handle Personalization: While the Qalam reed material itself does not support engraving, if you are purchasing a set with a wooden box, please contact us for personalized engraving options on the box lid.

Bulk Orders: For large custom orders (e.g., specific handle length or bulk quantities), please message us directly before purchasing.

Our Qalam Pens are naturally harvested and hand-finished, leading to slight variations in size, which adds to their unique character.

Length: Standard Qalam Pens measure approximately 7 to 8 inches (18–20 cm) long. This length is optimized for comfort and balance during long writing sessions.

Diameter: The handle diameter typically ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 inches (1 to 1.3 cm), designed to fit comfortably in the calligrapher's hand.

Nib Size: Unless a custom size is requested, our standard Qalam Pens come with a versatile medium cut, suitable for various scripts like Naskh Thuluth, and Diwani.

Proper care will ensure your natural Qalam Pen lasts for many years of dedicated use.

Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe the nib area with a wet cloth or tissue to prevent ink residue from hardening. Avoid excessive scrubbing.

Storage: Store your Qalam Pens in a dry, cool environment. Keep them protected, preferably in a box or a dedicated pen holder, to prevent accidental damage to the sensitive nib.

Avoid: Do not soak the entire pen in water. Only the nib area should come into contact with the ink and cleaning moisture.

Tip: If the nib becomes blunt over time, you can re-cut it using a specialized Qalam knife (qalam-tarash).
