Frequently asked questions
How are your designs made?
We come up with the ideas and write the prompts in our studio, then use AI tools to generate the designs. A glitter artist with more than ten years behind the table reviews every one and keeps only the designs that are clean to cut, sensible to weed, and easy to peel off skin. Not every design makes the cut.
Are your designs original?
Every Gildwork design is created in our studio from our own ideas and prompts. Because AI tools learn from a huge range of imagery, a design could occasionally resemble existing work. Any resemblance is unintended and coincidental. If you think one of our designs is too close to your work, email hello@gildworkstudio.com and we’ll review it right away, and remove it if needed.
What do I get when I buy?
A zip file with the design files ready for your cutting machine, a license card that explains what you can do with them, and a note from us. Nothing ships. It’s all digital.
What sizes are the stencils?
Our designs are sized at 2" x 2" or 2" x 3". Each listing shows the size. You’re welcome to resize them, but very small details may not cut cleanly if you go much smaller.
Will the files work with my cutting machine?
Each listing names the file formats included. Check that your machine’s design software opens one of them before you buy. Not sure? Email us first and we’ll tell you.
How do I download my files?
After you buy, go to Purchases in your Etsy account and open the Downloads page. Download on a computer if you can, since phones and tablets can be fussy with zip files.
What can I do with the files?
Cut as many stencils as you need, use them on paying customers, and show them on your flash board. Files can’t be shared or resold, and designs can’t go on merchandise. The full terms are on the license card in your download.
Can I return a digital file?
Because they’re digital, we can’t take returns or exchanges. But if a file won’t open, won’t cut cleanly, or isn’t what the listing showed, email hello@gildworkstudio.com within 14 days of purchase. We’ll fix the file, send it in a format that works for your machine, or refund you if we can’t sort it out.
Do you sell physical stencils?
Not right now. Everything in our shop is a digital file you cut yourself.
