Hi, I'm Diana, the owner of Sew Cute Patterns, a plush toy sewing patterns company on a mission to bring fun and creativity to parents and grandparents and their special little ones!
I stared Sew Cute Patterns in 2008 after spending years creating handmade softies for my own sons just for fun. They outgrew their love of plush toys but I didn't overgrow my love of making them. Based in Chicago, I created a sewing studio out of one of the bedrooms in my home and it’s my get away when creativity strikes. It’s a total mess of fabric, stuffing, plastic eyes, yarn, fur, glue guns and sewing machines but I love it!
I have a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Loyola University of Chicago. My business side and my creative side came together to create Sew Cute Patterns. My creative side however took some practice. And when I say some, I mean lots!
I added short bedtime stories to make the toy making process even more fun and interactive. I loved reading to my kids. Even more fun was making a 3D version of the characters in the story and then reading the story over and over again. My storybook patterns include the kids book told on fun coloring pages and the pattern pieces and instructions to sew the characters. You and your child can add your own unique twist to make your plush even more unique and special. Create one in their favorite colors! Children can color the story pages and design their own storybook. The creativity is endless!!!
