Crochet meets pop culture
I have been crocheting for years now, but I've been surrounded by crafts of all sorts for my whole life. Some of my earliest memories are happy times spent in the fabric store that my grandparents and mother owned. All the colors and textures! Beads and buttons! Fabric and lace!
Eventually (many years later) I settled on crochet as my craft of choice. I love the symmetry of the patterns. The ability to make it my own with color and fiber choice. Or even to make my own patterns. My first design was the Pikachu blanket pictured here (a birthday present for my oldest daughter).
My other love is the current pop culture - Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Marvel, Wonder Woman (the rest of DC has yet to impress me, sorry DC fans!), Star Wars, etc. When I realized that I could combine the two... !!
I have several pattern ideas half-completed. I'm just short on time (and yarn!) to get them finished up. There will be more as I get them completed. I don't want to hand off a pattern that I haven't tested yet.
I did think about opening an Etsy shop several years ago, but didn't get any farther than that. Which explains why the shop is so old with so few sales.
