After losing my job during the Summer of 2018 and reaching a new birthday milestone, I was faced with the challenge of looking for gratifying employment in the education field. As a result of de-cluttering my drawers and closets, I discovered so many crafting essentials that I had stored away, but was not using, or projects I had started but never completed. I had a collection of from printed papers for scrap-booking, to paints, markers, and glues, to fabrics, felt, ribbons, and yarn. All which "sparked joy" in my life, but they were tuck away ready to breath new life. I began to organize my stash and get to work.
I was fascinated with all the colors and textures. I had made decoupaged plates using fabrics in the past, but didn't find them to be useful. So I turned to my felt stash, which I had used for my preschool learning boards, and began searching for a new use for felt in the crafting world. Technology has sparked my creativity and I discovered felt flowers and learned how to create these precious flowers and phenomenal techniques from various YouTubers. I also wanted to create something sustainable that I could also use to diffuse my essential oils. (That's whole other essential that I still need to add to my shop.) Felt was the perfect medium to create something that "sparked joy" for me because the scraps were the perfect size to create what I needed. Wreaths were the second object that "sparked joy".
More to come on my upcoming creative endeavors and the launch of my Junk Journal journey and sample bundle kits.
