Fun and Design- I love my Job
Design was an integral part of my life ever since I was a small child. My parents, gifted architects, brought me up in the lap of esthetics and the arts. As I grew up I decided to make it into my profession which I why I chose to study graphic design at the academic level which I graduated with honors. After graduation I founded a successful graphic design firm with a great partner which lived in Dusseldorf, Germany.
While managing the studio I made a family as well in my home town of Haifa. Here is where I raise my two lovely daughters, Alma and Ofir, my husband Amir and our dog Freddie.
During one project of the studio I came across the material called “plexiglass” which I used to create a miniature model for the project. When I held the miniature model in my hand it felt like jewelry – and that is where it all began. I fell in love with the material, its properties and in what I can make with it. I realized that I have found my fun. I founded a studio – in my studio I design the jewelry, plan it, cut it piece by piece out of large sheets and put it all together into a new piece of jewelry.
I love the space that I created for myself – the view from my studio window is just right and full of inspiration – on the one hand you see the quiet and calm Mediterranean sea and on the other the city buildings and the developing urban landscape – a sort of a contrast blend that in its own way creates a whole view of ambiance and inspiration. My sources of inspiration are plentiful and are all around me – from the pretty floor tiles in my studio’s staircase, the fairytales that I read my daughters before they go to sleep, to the pretty woman in the vintage dress that passes by the colorful street where the studio resides.
I am happy in how my life is – wonderful family, a job that makes me get up with a smile in the morning and the smiles that I get from people who wear my jewelry and which makes them happy. It inspires me even more and I go to sleep every night with even more new ideas.
