At The Mermaid Shack I care about the environment and I try to use materials which reflect this.

All twine used in my creations is hemp. Hemp is a more sustainable and durable option than cotton twine, which does not rely upon pestacides to be grown and requires around half the water of cotton!
This results in a strong, environmentally friendly product for you. All my hemp is sourced from HempCraft who use nontoxic dyes.

All items from The Mermaid Shack are unique and cruelty free.
Every shell and piece of driftwood are hand picked from our local beaches on rafter on walks with the family and dog. No animals have been harmed or removed in
this process.
I do not use any chemicals in the process of cleaning any materials.
All felt used in my rustic creations is eco-felt. This is 100% recylced plastic. This felt is durable, easy to wash, aesthetically pleasing, environmentally friendly and best of all won't be eaten by any little critters!

Time and love go into each and every one of my creations. Everything is hand stitched which I believe adds to their rustic charm, making the item you take home completely unique.
