Truth is, I have a slight obsession with 14k gold fill. This is the highest quality gold next to solid gold. It is composed of a thick layer of gold over jeweler's brass, which is actually fused to its base. 14k gold fill is much higher quality than gold plated pieces.

In other words, you can shower/ swim/ sweat in your 14k gold filled jewelry and it won't flake off, tarnish, or turn green! ;)

14k gold fill is nickel-free and suitable for sensitive skin. This precious metal will look shiny and new for decades, and requires no special care. If needed, it can be polished with a jewelry cleaning cloth such as a Sunshine Polishing Cloth.

Sterling silver and brass pieces require a little extra care to keep them shiny & new looking for years to come. I suggest regularly cleaning with a Sunshine Polishing Cloth (I include a sample with every silver/ brass purchase). Store your pieces in a jewelry box/airtight bag, in a room that is not exposed to excess heat or moisture. When swimming in the ocean/ pool, simply remove your jewelry beforehand, as salt and chlorine can affect the finish on your pieces. Some personal care products, such as sunscreens & perfumes, may also have an effect on your jewelry. Wear those pieces often! This is actually the easiest way to maintain the lustre of your jewelry. Tarnish is less likely to build up & dull your pieces when you wear them often!
