What is Cordura?
Cordura is a brand name for a family of high-performance fabrics made from nylon, polyester, or a combination of these materials.
Durability:
One of the standout features of Cordura is its exceptional resistance to abrasion, tear strength, and impacts. This makes it ideal for applications where durability and protection are necessary.
Water Resistance:
Cordura has some level of water resistance and dries relatively quickly. This makes it particularly suitable for outdoor equipment and clothing that may be exposed to damp conditions.
Laser-cut patches are resistant to rain, water splashes, and non-salty water.
Do Not Wash the Patches:
Washing Laser-Cut Patches can cause damage, as the combination of adhesive, detergent, and high temperatures can potentially have a harmful effect.
Adhesive sensitivity:
The adhesive used on the back of Laser-Cut Patches may react sensitively to hot water and chemicals. Detergents contain chemical compounds that can weaken or dissolve the adhesive, potentially causing the patch to peel off or be damaged.
Impact of High Wash Temperatures:
Most washing processes involve higher temperatures to remove dirt and stains. These high temperatures could compromise the adhesive and alter the structure of the patch. Plastics may melt or deform, leading to permanent damage to the patch.
Remove Patches Before Washing:
If you need to wash your clothing, carefully remove the patches beforehand. This ensures that the patches are not exposed to harmful influences.
Patches serve for easy, quick identification, personalization of equipment, as well as for the recognition and differentiation of friend and foe. Patches always contain information that is relevant to the wearer or to others. Often, patches serve for visualization and are easily distinguishable and memorable due to their format and individual design. They come in all shapes and colors – whether it's a rubber patch, a Velcro patch, an IR patch, or a custom patch in civilian applications. However, they are not a new invention. Badges and patches originate from the military sector and have been used there for several centuries.
