How can I use these resources (communication cards, affirmation cards, etc.)?

The short answer is - whatever way works best for you! You can print out the pages and put them together in a binder, laminate and cut out the cards to use individually, or use from the digital files on laptop or mobile device. Or, if there is another way that works best for you, feel free to do that! Just please only use the cards for personal use (you & your loved ones) unless you have purchased the professional license from my shop. If you enjoy the resources and want to share them with others, please direct them to my shop so I can continue to be supported and create more items.

Do I need to purchase a professional license?

The professional license is for customers who plan to use the resources in a professional setting, such as a teacher buying to use in a classroom, or a therapist to use with clients. You only need to buy one professional license to use with any resources you buy from my shop. I am not an education, mental health or occupational health professional, and my resources are not a replacement for professional care.

This listing includes 1 PDF containing 120 printable communication cards. 112 have words and phrases, while 8 are blank for you to fill if you choose. These are AAC (alternative and augmented communication) tools that can be used for communicating when speaking is not an option or is difficult. All the cards have a light green background with sunflower designs and dark brown text. The phrases on the cards include:

- Introductions (e.g. "It's good to see you," "This is my emotional support animal")
- Self-advocacy (e.g. "I can hear you," "Can you help me?")
- Physical and emotional states (e.g. "I'm anxious," "I'm hungry")
- Sensory triggers and needs (e.g. "It's too crowded," "I need my headphones"
- Activities (e.g. "I need to shower," "I want to draw")

This set of cards is expanded and revised from the original Basic Communication Cards for Adults from Purple Raspberry Plans. This set has more feelings/emotions, new introductions for emotional support animals/service animals, and more self-advocacy cards.

When printed on letter paper (8.5 x 11 inches), the cards will be about 3 x 1.75 inches. I recommend printing on cardstock or heavy paper if possible, and/or laminating the cards so that they will be more durable.
