A traditionally handwoven Thai bamboo basket fishing trap, re-purposed into a beautifully minimalistic pendant light.

[ About ]

A classic example of Asian craftsmanship, these fishing traps and holding baskets are handwoven from natural bamboo using techniques that are centuries old.

The shape is woven by hand using thick strips of bamboo and nothing else, a clever weave resulting in a beautiful cone shape. We've added a simple yet precise hanging lamp holder that can be adjusted with an adjustable metal support bracket so that you can position your bulb anywhere inside the basket, along with a choice of cabling and lamp to match your style/theme, natural wood and rope or white/black metal and PVC with either a plug or ceiling rose.

[ Cable length / options ]

The cable can be made to any length. If you would like a specific length not in the listing options, simply purchase the closest meter from the listing options and add in the order notes the specific length you require. For example, if you would like a cable length 265cm, purchase the 3m option and add the 265cm request in the order notes. We would then make a cable set that is 265cm long.

[ Notes ]

○ Indoor / Outdoor - our bamboo baskets can be used both indoors and outdoors, however our cable sets are not rated for outdoor weather, they are indoor use only.

○ The light bulb is not included. We recommend softer energy saving LED or weaker vintage style bulbs as seen in the pictures to protect the bamboo from heat damage.

○ As each piece is individually handmade they will differ slightly in size, shape or shade and may have small marks and wear.

○ All pictures are the same product - night/day shots with the light on/off will result in different colors and appearances.

[ Shipping ]

Our lamps are packed with loving care and sent from Northern Thailand via tracked airmail which should reach you in around 10-21 days (US, UK, EU, AUS, ASIA).

Please be aware that VAT is NOT included - for some countries (typically EU countries) VAT and customs duties may apply, these are the responsibility of the buyer. If the item is returned to us due to non-payment of the customs duties/fees we would be unable to refund the original shipping cost.

We ship to most places without any problems, although if you have any unusual issues with mail to your address, such as the regular mail service (USPS, Royal Mail etc.) not servicing your area, or you live in a remote area that may require additional shipping precautions please let us know beforehand and we can check that we can deliver.

We recently discovered that there are maximum dimensions for Guernsey, so it may not be possible to ship larger items there unfortunately.

Usually after a missed delivery (nobody home to sign for a package, package refused, not collected etc.) the package will be held for local pickup with your postal service for around 14 days, before being returned to sender if unclaimed.

If this happens, we can re-send for you, although you would have to pay the shipping cost for the re-send.

If you would prefer a refund, we can refund the order minus the initial shipping costs.

Unfortunately it often costs us double to receive a shipment back as we pay for the return shipping of unclaimed items as well as initial shipping :/ so please be sure to keep an eye on your tracking details to make sure any delivery or pick up goes smoothly before an item is returned to sender.

If your item arrives damaged, please let us know asap and retain both the item and the packaging so that we are able to start a claim and/or return with the carrier.

Simply contact us with photos of the damaged item and packaging and we will be able to start a return and/or refund or replace the item for you.

Without photos of the damage and the item being retained we would be unable to refund or replace unfortunately.

Please note that VAT is NOT included.

Etsy's wording can be quite confusing for some countries where VAT may be an option, typically EU countries - you will see on listing that it says 'VAT included (if applicable)'. If the return/exchange is due to change of mind we can refund the original item cost, minus shipping.

I just received 3 of the small sized Repurposed Fishing Trap Basket Pendants today! I LOVE them! They are well made and feel sturdier than they look in the photos. The subtle color undertone variations in the bamboo look really beautiful. I am pleased they are true to the size posted on the listing, so to me, they look larger in real life than they did in the photos online. Each one is slightly distinctive, and I am really excited to hang them because they will look so charming and beautifully, authentically handmade. We are renovating a house, and it will be a while before I will be able to post a picture, but once they are hung I will add to the review since I know I appreciated seeing photos posted by others! Asking questions/communicating with the seller was really easy and I am really happy I decided to purchase these!
