Got bored in quarantine... Now I burn images into wood. :)
It all started off with my friends and I getting into upgrading guitars. My friend picked up a cheap soldering iron in order to solder in new pickups. I had a crazy idea that I wanted to wood burn a tree branch into the face of the guitar. My friends thought the idea would be cool in theory, but completely unattainable since no one wanted to donate their guitar to the cause of the experiment, especially considering none of us had ever really drawn, let alone wood burned in our lives. Later on that evening I got bored and burned a tree into a small block of wood.
That Sunday, I went to work to lead a couple of kids' rock band classes that I run at my day job as a private music teacher. In my younger band I have this amazing young guitarist with this complete trash guitar. I loved hearing him play, but hated everything about how his guitar operated and sounded. So, I made a deal with him. I'd give him new pickups, pots, and tuners, and in exchange, he'd have to allow me to go crazy on his guitar and potentially destroy its appearance. To this day, I am still incredibly proud of how that guitar looks and sounds. The kid deserved the upgrade.
From there, my friend asked me to burn his cats into a plank. Then my cousin commissioned me to burn a portrait of his wife with her long deceased father. The projects kept coming, my tools got upgraded, my skills leveled up, and now I have an Etsy!
I'm all CUSTOM! You tell me what's next!
Thanks for looking!
