Something New in Gift Wrap!
I developed the concept for my paper ribbon because I'd always loved the look of a label and ribbon combination in packaging. However labels don't stick well on fabric ribbon and I could never find strips of long narrow decorative paper (cutting long strips accurately by hand was nearly impossible).
After thoroughly searching the internet I realized no one offered such a thing (this was before washi tape). The closest thing at the time was transparent decorative packing tape. But I was going for a simple yet charming packaging and gift wrap concept that I felt sticky packing tape just wouldn't provide. Even with washi tape now available, I still think paper ribbon is much better for wrapping gifts because it's not sticky and it is opaque (the same texture as scrapbook paper).
After attending a Country Living Women Entrepreneur's workshop in Chicago, I decided to plow forward making my idea of "paper ribbon" a reality. I found a printer in the USA who would work with me to make my concept a reality.
I designed the patterns and decided on colors and then it was off to print.
Almost immediately after my paper ribbons came off the press, I realized I needed to make gift labels to go with them. Designing labels is one of my favorite parts of the job because there are so many possibilities and you can go from idea to finished product in the same day.
Ultimately, I had so many requests for wrapping paper that I decided to design that too!
Now, Paperjacks offers the "complete package" for gift wrapping with wrapping paper, paper ribbon and labels that all coordinate!
