A work in progress
That's pretty much how I see myself and my art: A work in progress.
Aside from the normal, artist-type thinking; that you're always learning, always improving, this is me as well. I'm not done. None of us are done until we're exhaling our last. We are all growing and learning (hopefully) until our minds and bodies give it up.
My art is made up mostly of landscapes, but I find it very difficult to settle on one style or one subject or one theory that unifies all of my work. My interests are too diverse and the things I want to do with my art too manifold. I need to do it all.
I love landscapes, but I also have a soft spot for portraits and figurative work. Still life, which to me is just a portrait of an inanimate object or objects, is a form I admire. Taking simple objects and making them beautiful. Giving them emotion and life, bringing more to them than what's apparent. I suppose that applies to all art, or at least to what I try to bring to mine.
