Vintage finds cheer me up and pretty things make me happy.
But I do not have to keep all the pretty things I find... actually, I can't... In the old days, I would walk along a flea market and enjoy the pretty things just by seeing them and occasionally buying something for my own house. Now I buy all things extremely pretty, and sell them on Etsy! What a discovery.. I wish I could do this as my fulltime job, but who knows.
The hours I spend on my Etsy shop are mostly dedicated to cleaning my items, believe it or not. They are second hand finds, and before they can even think about appearing on Secondhand Sandy, they need some TLC! The second most time-consuming task is he purchasing of pretty items, but I loooove that part of my job. The rest of my Etsy-time is photographing, researching items and gathering packaging material for shipping. I only use recycled materials to pack my goodies.
When looking for items I try to make collections, Pyrex bowls are a ferquent visitor of my shop, as is Arcopal France milk glass kitchenware and Villeroy and Boch Acapulco porcelain. For the rest, I buy what I love! That way it will fit together just by that fact.
Recently we have opened a little pop-up shop in Amsterdam Oost with four other Etsy sellers. Together we are the Ka-ching Collective. Our pop-up shop is located on Swammerdamstraat 54. We are open on Thursday 12-21, Friday 12-18 and Saturday 12-18. You can pick your goods up there so you do not have to pay shipping costs, just send me a message! If you would like to have a closer look at an item in real life, you are more than welcome in our shop. Please let me know beforehand as not all items that are online are in the shop and vice versa. See you in Amsterdam!
I also have some active girlfriends who help me collect items for my shop; ladies; thank you!
