How I became a paper cutting artist
Empecé a recortar papel por curiosidad, tras encontrarme con unas piezas geniales que me dieron ganas de intentarlo (¡estaré eternamente agradecida a Hari y Deepti por guiarme a descubrir las cajas de sombras!). Tras varios intentos con el recorte de papel "normal", rápidamente me decanté por las cajas de sombras, ya que jugar con la profundidad, las sombras y la luz me resultaba especialmente atractivo.
Con el tiempo, aprendí mucho y perfeccioné mis habilidades, no solo en lo que respecta al arte del recorte de papel. Aprendí a hacer un marco, a pintarlo correctamente, a soldar, a usar LED, a cortar vidrio... Habilidades que nunca imaginé que aprendería, pero todas derivadas de un mismo objetivo: el deseo de crear las mejores cajas de sombras posibles.
¡Todo esto ha dado como resultado lo que ven aquí! Cada artículo de mi tienda es una pieza única y artesanal. Cada paso del proceso de creación (diseño, corte, enmarcado, iluminación, etc.) está hecho a mano meticulosamente por mí, y cada pieza es el resultado de largas horas de investigación, trabajo y, por supuesto, ¡pasión!

I first started paper cutting out of curiosity, after coming across a few really cool paper cutting pieces that made me want to give it a go (I will forever be grateful to Hari and Deepti for leading me to discover shadow boxes!). After a few tries at "regular" paper cutting, I quickly gravitated towards shadow boxes, since playing with depth, shadows and light was particularly appealing to me.
Over time, I learned a lot and developed my skills, and not just strictly related to paper cutting art. I learned how to make a frame, how to paint it properly, how to solder, how to use LEDs, how to cut glass... Skills I never imagined I would learn, but all stemming from the same place: the desire to make the best possible shadow boxes.
This has all led to what you see here! Each item in my shop is a unique, handcrafted piece. Every step of the making process (the design, cutting, framing, lighting, etc.) is meticulously handmade by me, and each piece is the result of long hours of research, work, and of course, passion!
