Be a Dream Maker
In 2005, I started to train to be a teacher. At the same time, I decided to sponsor a child through the charity 'Plan'. It was a little girl from Nepal called Chandra. I had two sons at the time and this little girl was my long distance daughter. We shared letters and photos over the years and, in 2017, I had a letter off her to say how very grateful she was, that she no longer needed my support as she was all grown up and could I please choose another child in need - which of course I did. Sponsoring Chandra was one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life.
'Plan' works hard to tackle issues that face girls and women across the globe, in rich and poor countries. Issues such as child trafficking, child marriage, sex education, violence, street harassment, access to sanitary products and access to education. My aim is to sell products that empower and inspire. I also want to continue to support 'Plan' by donating 50p from each sale to the charity.
I wanted to share my love of poetry and literature with others while also helping a cause close to my heart.
