I grow summer blooming long stemmed lavender. -
Every year, I wait with great anticipation for the new crop of lavender to bloom. Here is one bush as of May 15, 2014. -
The bees and bumblebees are also very happy when the lavender begins to bloom. These two were very busy. -
To make even a small wand, it takes at least a 12 inch long stem including the flowers. Here you can see 4 sizes. -
I use over 45,000 stems to make over 3000 wands weaving 24/7. How many will I be able to make next summer!?

I have always loved working with my hands to create. From drawing and painting, to knitting and embroidery. When I first began to weave my lavender into wands in the Victorian way, it was as if my hands already knew how to do this. It is a joy!
