Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, or walnut (walnut adds $975)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.
The photos show natural cherry wood finished with tung oil.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $140, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.
The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are about 1" down from the top of the sides. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. For the Queen and King sizes, two beams run from end to end under the slats to support them in addition to the support at the ends of the slats. One center beam is used for the Full and Twin sizes and there is no center storage area to permit drawers to be a good size.
The height of the drawer boxes for any of the bed sizes is about 7.25" for the lower row and 6.25" for the upper row.
Here are the standard approximate dimensions of this bed:
Length for queen or king = 97"
Included in that length is the depth of the shelf unit = 12"
Height of shelf unit = 65"
Width of queen size = 64"
Width of king size = 80"
The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 21" tall.
Twelve drawers are under the bed. Six pull out on one side and six pull out on the other side. (Except for the twin size that has 6 drawers on one side only.) The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing slides. For the Queen and King sizes, the length of the drawers will be about 1/3 of the width of the bed. The remaining approximate 1/3 in the middle will be an open storage space that is accessed from the foot end of the bed through doors as shown in the fourth photo. For the Full size the length of the drawers are about 1/2 the width of the bed with no center storage area under the mattress. For the Twin size the length of the 6 drawers pulling out one side only are about the width of the bed with no center storage area under the mattress.
The bookcase headboard depth is 12". The top of the headboard shelf unit is about 65 inches above the floor. The bookcase headboard has three levels of shelves above the bed. The first level has sliding doors. Under the shelves is a storage area that is accessed through a door on each side.
The photos 8 and 9 show optional side tables attached to the head board. The price of the two optional tables each with one drawer is $395 ( $450 for walnut).
Photo 10 shows optional crown molding for the front and sides (not on back) that you can request for $195. Or you can request a smaller crown molding for the same price. Or you can request the cabinet top overhang the sides and front by .75" for $45.
My standard pull is round brushed nickel. The door and drawer pulls can be selected by the customer from most any available on the web. The price per pull and special installation will be paid by the customer.
The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like.
Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.
The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
