Hi, I'm Randy Brockman of Apex Fly Designs. I've spent years as an angler and fly tier in both fresh and saltwater, lakes, rivers, you name it. Along the way I've studied the designs of classic patterns (the prince nymph, the elk hair caddis, the copper john, etc.) to understand how and why they were successful. I challenge myself to determine the next step in how new patterns can be developed using a combination of tested materials and methods along with new innovations and products.

When you buy my flies you're getting 2nd to none quality using the best materials (whiting, togens, tiemco, ahrex, semperfli) and custom patterns ( and my version of the classics) that only you will have out on the water. All flies are tied by me and will be tied to order, so you can be assured you're not getting a decaying fly that's been sitting in a bin for years.
