Cuando era niño, pasaba la mayor parte de mi tiempo en la mesa de manualidades, creando y sintiéndome atraído por materiales coloridos. También pasé mucho tiempo en la playa, en una tabla de surf y disfrutando del aire libre en el sur de California. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que dibujara mis olas ideales y soñara despierto con el surf en los márgenes de mi trabajo escolar. Sigo siendo esa niña que dibuja escenas de surf de mis sueños y pasa tiempo jugando con el color. Me encanta colocar crayones y marcadores en combinaciones bonitas y ver la magia o hacer que el surfista con estilo perfecto cobre vida.

Estudié bellas artes en la Universidad Brigham Young de Idaho y me encantó aprender y probar muchos medios diferentes, como grabado, óleo, gouache y acuarela, y técnicas de medios mixtos. Después de graduarme tuve dos hijos y no pude encontrar la energía creativa para hacer arte de manera consistente. Cada vez que pintaba o creaba algo, me llenaba de mucha alegría y me traía de vuelta a mí mismo. He aprendido a priorizarme más mientras soy una madre a tiempo completo y hacer tiempo para las cosas que me devuelven y me ayudan a ser la persona que quiero ser.

Ahora me levanto temprano ante mis hijos, me instalo en la mesa de la cocina y pinto todas las semanas. Disfruto de los acrílicos y recientemente he estado usando acuarela, ya que es mucho más fácil hacer una pausa o detenerse si los niños me necesitan sin perder mi pintura.

El arte siempre me ha inspirado, ha traído alegría a mi vida y me ha brindado un lugar para soñar. Estoy encantado de volver a crear y hacer de manera consistente, y abrir una tienda en línea para compartir mi arte y yo mismo con otros me está brindando un aprendizaje y crecimiento increíbles. Ha sido un sueño mío desde la infancia ser artista; compartiendo su trabajo, haciendo de la creación una prioridad y divirtiéndose en el arte de decorar las paredes.

Colors of Clare es un lugar para que otros tengan arte colorido y divertido en sus hogares que inspira, trae alegría y ayuda a mantener vivos los sueños. Todos merecemos nuestros sueños y un poco de color ayuda a iluminar los tiempos difíciles en todas nuestras vidas.

As a kid I spent most of my time at the craft table, creating and being drawn to colorful materials. I also spent a lot of time at the beach, on a surfboard, and enjoying the outdoors in Southern California. It wasn’t long before I was drawing my ideal waves and day dreaming about surfing in the margins of my schoolwork. I’m still that little girl drawing surf scenes from my dreams and spending time playing with color. I love placing crayons and markers in pretty combinations and seeing the magic or making the perfect stylish surfer come to life.

I studied fine art at Brigham Young University- Idaho and loved learning and trying many different mediums, like printmaking, oil, gouache and watercolor, and mixed media techniques. After graduating I had two children and wasn’t able to find the creative energy to make art consistently. Every time I would paint or create something it filled me with so much joy and brought me back to myself. I’ve learned how to prioritize myself more while being a full time mother and make time for the things that give back to me and help me be the person I want to be.

I now wake up early before my kids, set up at the kitchen table, and paint every week. I enjoy acrylics and have recently been using watercolor, as it’s much easier to pause or stop if the kids need me without loosing my paint.

Art has always inspired me, brought joy into my life, and afforded me a place to dream. I am thrilled to be getting back into creating and making consistently, and opening an online shop to share my art and myself with others is affording me incredible learning and growth. It has been a dream of mine since childhood to be an artist; sharing her work, making creating a priority, and having fun art decorate the walls.

Colors of Clare is a place for others to have colorful fun art in their homes that inspires, brings joy, and helps keep dreams alive. We all deserve our dreams and a bit of color helps brighten the challenging times in all our lives.
