Sourced from Supplier who sell products at all main Christmas markets in Prague, Czech Republic and inlay silver jewellery from Eammano, Thailand
It all started off with a trip to Prague at Christmas where I visited the main square Christmas market where I stumbled across a stall that sold these beautiful shiny decorations.
I hadn't seen anything like these before in London and soon discovered the product derives from a traditional technique used in parts of Eastern Europe where moulds are sourced and ornaments glass blown and individually hand painted. The standard of the glass in Czech is one of best in the world.
I conversed with the supplier who makes these items and they helped me set up a stall at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland in London where the products have been likened to the glass ornaments you get in Harrods and Liberty by the public only that mine were much less expensive.
Astralex (the supplier) would drive over from Czech Republic each Christmas and help me to mimic their stall they have in Prague.
this is how the partnership blossommed.........
An edition to my shop are beautiful handmade pieces of inlay silver jewellery with inset abalone shell sourced from Thailand.
Inlay refers to a fabrication method for Jewellery whereby (usually) Semi
Precious stones are set into channels, voids and recesses and held in place
permanently with epoxy and mechanical fittings.
Sanding and polishing complete the process. The stone surfaces become
flush with the metallic surfaces but show the border between the
materials as a smooth, seamless interface.
Materials include silver and semi-precious stones such as turquoise, lapis,
coral or sugerlite. Other semi-precious stones can be used including
man-made materials to reduce price and allow for more brilliant colours to be used
A Symphony of Craftsmanship:
Each piece is a testament to the meticulous dance of skills. Silversmithing precision meets lapidary artistry, guided by a keen eye for balance and harmony. Sanding and polishing transform rough edges into a seamless union, where stone and metal become one, whispering tales of dedication and passion.
