Weird Art, Loud Stickers, Handmade in Canada
Welcome to Gutter Freak Labs — a tiny basement art lab in Edmonton, Alberta, where weird little ideas crawl out of the sewer, get inked, printed, laminated, cut by hand, and shipped out into the world.
Gutter Freak Labs started as a way for me to combine everything I love: comics, monsters, punk art, retro cartoons, horror, toys, political satire, weird humour, and handmade sticker culture. I’ve always been drawn to art that feels a little rough around the edges — underground comics, old horror posters, 90s action figure packaging, garage band flyers, monster movies, fighting games, and the kind of bold, loud artwork that looks like it was made with too much ink and not enough permission.
Everything in this shop is designed by me, printed in-house, laminated, and hand cut in my basement studio. I like keeping the process close to the source. These aren’t mass-produced products coming from a giant warehouse — they’re small-batch pieces made by one artist who cares about the artwork, the message, and the people who connect with it.
A lot of my stickers come from the same basic idea: art should have teeth. Some designs are funny, some are gross, some are political, some are proudly Canadian, and some are just strange little mutants that escaped the lab. I make stickers for people who like their art with personality — the kind of stuff that looks good on a laptop, water bottle, toolbox, sketchbook, guitar case, hard hat, car window, sticker wall, or anywhere else that needs a little more attitude.
The name Gutter Freak Labs comes from the world I’m building around the brand: a fictional sewer-side lab full of mutants, misfits, monsters, and oddball creations. It’s part comic book, part toy line, part sticker shop, and part ongoing art experiment. My long-term goal is to grow Gutter Freak Labs beyond stickers into prints, comics, toys, 3D-printed figures, and collectible weird little freaks of all kinds.
Right now, stickers are the heart of the shop. I make waterproof vinyl stickers with laminate so they’re durable, weather-resistant, and made to last. I do my best to create pieces that feel bold, high-contrast, readable, and fun — whether it’s a bumper sticker with a sharp message, a horror-inspired design, a Canadian pride sticker, or a mutant character that looks like it wandered out of a toxic cartoon universe.
Because this is a handmade shop, every order matters. Every sticker I sell helps keep the lights on in the lab, helps me buy more materials, and helps me keep building this strange little business one order at a time. When you buy from Gutter Freak Labs, you’re supporting an independent Canadian artist, not a faceless print-on-demand company.
I’m also a lifelong collector and fan of comics, toys, monsters, and pop culture, so a lot of that energy finds its way into the work. I grew up loving bold comic book art, exaggerated characters, grimy textures, monster designs, and anything that felt like it belonged on the cover of a VHS tape or the wall of a comic shop. That spirit is baked into everything I make.
Some pieces are playful. Some are angry. Some are political. Some are proudly local. Some are just weird because weird is more fun. But everything comes from the same place: a love of handmade art, loud visuals, and creating things that feel like they have a little life in them.
I’m always experimenting with new designs, new themes, and new ways to push the shop forward. New stickers are added regularly, and I’m constantly sketching, testing, printing, cutting, and figuring out what the next wave of Gutter Freak creations should be.
Thanks for checking out the shop, favouriting a design, sharing a listing, or placing an order. It genuinely helps more than you know.
Welcome to the lab.
