Ik herinner me het maken van mijn eerste rok op de middelbare school en het proces van het uitzoeken van een patroon, de stof en de ideeën. Toen ik aan de naaimachine zat en mijn eerste creatie maakte, wist ik meteen... Ik was verslaafd. Sindsdien ben ik creatief. Ik was 10 jaar schoonheidsspecialiste, quilter, pottenbakker en nu poppenmaker. Mijn oma was een quilter en ze behoorde tot quiltbijen.... hoe leuk is dat! Ik heb ook een diepe passie voor oude quilts. Ik ben gezegend om er een paar te bezitten die mijn grootmoeder heeft gemaakt en ik koester ze. Ik vind het heerlijk om een stoffenwinkel binnen te gaan en alle verschillende prints en texturen te bekijken. Ik voel me als een kind in een snoepwinkel. Ik hou ook van bouwmarkten, er zijn zoveel verschillende dingen die in mijn handgemaakte items kunnen worden verwerkt.... spijkers, draad, tacks, scherm en allerlei lekkers. Het is leuk om out of the box te denken.

Al mijn creaties zijn volledig handgemaakt van begin tot eind door mij en wanneer ik poppen, ornamenten en andere creaties ontwerp, is hier een korte beschrijving van mijn proces;
Ik maak een patroon, breng het over op fabtic, hout of ander textiel, naai de stukken aan elkaar, vul het item indien nodig en dan schilder ik de gezichten en andere details op elk item met de hand. Ik ben trots op goede kwaliteit en in staat om te zeggen: "Handgemaakt in de VS".

I remember making my first skirt in high school and the process of picking out a pattern, the fabric and the notions. Then as I sat at the sewing machine, making my first creation, I knew right then...I was hooked. Ever since then, I have been creative. I was a cosmetologist for 10 years, a quilter, a potter and now a doll maker. My Grandmother was a quilter and she belonged to quilting bees....how fun is that! I also have a deep passion for old quilts. I am blessed to own a couple of them that my Grandmother made and I cherish them. I love to go into a fabric store and look at all the different prints and textures. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I also love hardware stores, there are so many different things that can be incorporated into my handmade items....nails, wire, tacks, screen and all kinds of goodies. It is fun to think outside of the box.

All of my creations are completely handmade from start to finish by me and when I am designing dolls, ornaments and other creations, here is a short description of my process;
I make a pattern, transfer it to fabtic, wood or other textiles, sew the pieces together, stuff the item if needed and then I hand paint the faces and other details on each item. I pride myself in good quality and being able to say, "Handmade in the USA".
