The mountain has taught me to follow our passions.
I always wanted to study Fine Arts, and I didn't.
After climbing Everest in 1996, where I participated in the rescue in the worst tragedy that has ever inhabited this mountain, and a few days later making the summit while shooting a documentary in IMAX format, I decided that life is too short not to do, at least in our free time, what we are passionate about.
Designing and making jewelry, like mountaineering, gives me the balance I need, but allows me to unleash my creativity and express my dreams.
These jewels made with polymer clays are small moments of nature brought to everyday life.
SHIRTAS is a personal project, which was not born as a business, but as an artistic concept, to create small pieces of art, unique and unrepeatable.
They are handmade and of limited production. Serial or repetitive production of a model is ruled out.
WHY DON'T I ACCEPT COMMISSIONS OR REPETITION OF JEWELRY?
- Because repeating is not fun, and this project is solely and exclusively for that.
- Because repeating sometimes is not possible, the combination of shapes and colors arise by chance
- Because we tend to be looking for something concrete and if we do not find it we feel disappointed, and we have to learn to love what life puts in our way, without expectations.
We want to always live with certainties, with the concepts secured and controlled, and that only causes us unhappiness.
The best way to learn to live in uncertainty and enjoy it is to replace expectations with plans. Plan to acquire a SHIRTAS jewel (unique and unrepeatable), but do not expect a specific one (accept the one you find on your way). Because one thing I can assure you, the one you acquire, I will have done with great care and affection.

La montaña me ha enseñado a seguir nuestras pasiones.
Siempre quise estudiar Bellas Artes, y no lo hice.
Después de escalar el Everest en 1996, donde participé en el rescate en la peor tragedia que ha habito ene esta montaña, y pocos días después hacer cumbre mientras rodábamos un documental en formato IMAX, decidí que la vida es demasiado corta como para no hacer, por lo menos en nuestro tiempo libre, aquello que nos apasiona.
Diseñar y hacer joyas, como el alpinismo, me aporta el equilibrio que necesito, pero me permite liberar mi creatividad y expresar mis sueños.
Estas joyas hechas con arcillas poliméricas son pequeños momentos de naturaleza llevados a la vida cotidiana.
SHIRTAS es un proyecto personal, que no nació como negocio, sino como concepto artístico, para crear pequeñas piezas de arte, únicas e irrepetibles.
Están hechas a mano y son de producción limitada. La producción en serie o repetitiva de un modelo está descartada.
¿PORQUE NO ACEPTO ENCARGOS O REPETICIÓN DE JOYAS?
- Porque repetir no es divertido, y este proyecto es única y exclusivamente para eso.
- Porque repetir a veces no es posible, la combinación de formas y colores surgen por azar
- Porque solemos ir buscando algo enconcreto y si no lo encontramos nos sentimos decepcionados, y tenemos que aprender a amar lo que la vida pone en nuestro camino, sin expectativas.
Queremos vivir siempre con certezas, con los conceptos asegurados y controlados, y eso solo nos causa infelicidad.
La mejor manera de aprender a vivir en la incertidumbre y disfrutando de ella es sustituir las expectativas por planes. Planea adquirir una joya SHIRTAS (única e irrepetible), pero no esperes una en concreto (acepta la que encuentres en tu camino). Porque una cosa te puedo asegurar, aquella que adquieras, la habré hecho con mucho cuidado y cariño.
SHIRTAS, un valle perdido del Himalaya donde la mente y el alma se funden en una actitud para aprender a vivir la vida y el momento.
