Hi There, I'm Ellen. I'm kinda obsessed with sewing. I know that might sound a little crazy but its true - for me, sewing is power! It is powerful to be able to make what you want. So I teach sewing at a cool Stitch Lounge in Hoboken, NJ; I write books about sewing; I make all kinds of things and I'm always designing! I strive to get a ton of style out of just a few pattern pieces. I like to create patterns to make fun fashion and accessories as well as clever patterns for sewing dolls, doll clothes and plushies. I add fun, unusual, and sometimes a-little-bit-crazy techniques to make the sewing simple and easy. My patterns feature colorful, step-by-step instructions with tons of pictures and illustrations. The little attic studio where I create doesn't have much of space, but luckily, pattern making doesn't take up too much room and, I at least don't have to pack everything up at night!
