Tether & Token really started on my living room floor, surrounded by piles of cord and a lot of wedding-planning nerves. I decided to braid my own handfasting cord, and as I sat there working the strands together, something just clicked. I wasn't just making a wedding prop; I was weaving a physical reminder of the promise I was making. I fell in love with that quiet, intentional process, and I knew I wanted to create that same feeling for other people.

The brand's logo actually comes directly from that experience. It’s a single cord woven into a heart-shaped infinity knot, a little nod to the "tethers" that keep us grounded, whether that’s a partner, a new baby, or even the leash that connects you to your dog. I kept the lines hand-drawn and a bit imperfect because life is a little messy, and I think there’s a lot of beauty in things that feel human and handmade.

If you look closely at the knot, there are two loose strands. To me, those represent the "possibility" phase... that moment right before the knot is pulled tight, where two separate stories start becoming one. At the bottom, I added a small token ring to represent the actual keepsakes we carry with us, like the keychains or charms that help us hold onto a memory long after the big day is over.
