My Why: 2020 was a weird year for me. My job was usually a lot of travel, interaction, and excitement. Which in return led to life always bringing something new to look forward to or experience. 2020 brought a new experience for me, anxiety. With the gyms closed, travel halted, and life pretty much only being the four walls of my house I found myself lost within my own thoughts. But don’t worry there is medicine to help treat anxiety that makes life all better, right? Wrong. This brings me to the mission for my company, Recovery Candles LLC. Simply put: I want to help people find natural ways to relieve some of life’s most stressful moments.

It’s much too easy to treat anxiety, depression, stress, and mental health at large with a pill. Now don’t get me wrong medicine can work and is necessary for some, but you must also do the necessary internal work it takes to push through. Most of the time a pill takes away symptoms only temporarily and leaves that person with no tools to truly combat mental health. These seemingly small things turn into much larger issues and then when medicine no longer works you have individuals seeking something stronger to deal with those thoughts and pains. While my struggle did not end with addiction most stories can, and will, end this way. Most individuals just want to be heard, to know that they can succeed, and my goal is to find ways of bringing a little sunshine to my customers days.

Insert, essential oils. For me essential oils became much more than just something I occasionally diffused throughout my house. The scents I have combined have all helped me in one way or another fully relax my mind. They have provided relief when I felt my mind racing and they have helped re-ground me in life’s craziest moments. The more I researched the more I found more people like myself and combined with my love of DIY this company was born. Essential oils to me were like finding diamonds in the craziest of storms.

Mission: Like I said above, I truly want to help people succeed in finding their own diamonds amongst life’s roughest moments. Mental health and addiction awareness often is brushed aside and not truly given the attention it deserves. That is why I will also donate a portion of my profits to reputable foundations, non-profits, and recovery centers to help give back and bring awareness to this topic. Drug overdoses have been the leading cause of unintentional deaths in the US, and most of the time these addictions stem from untreated mental health problems individuals felt they could not face alone.
