I am Jannis, the founder of UPCY Design.
In 2020, I simply started my first upcycling project without knowing exactly where the journey would lead.
While looking for materials to reuse, I came across an ad for glass bricks "Free to Give Away".
My first thought was: "There must be something cool that can be made!"
No sooner said than done, I drew the first drafts and started looking for inspiration. Step by step, the old glass brick was transformed into a new glass brick lamp, like the one you can find in our shop today.
After a few more projects, I quickly realized how much I was drawn to the whole thing. It's just really exciting to create unique products from old materials. What fascinates me most is the almost endless possibilities of giving objects a new form and function.
Since then, our workshop has grown with each new project and we are super excited to see what the future holds.

Ich bin Jannis, der Gründer von UPCY Design.
Im Jahr 2020 habe ich mein erstes Upcycling-Projekt gestartet, ohne genau zu wissen, wo die Reise hingeht.
Auf der Suche nach Materialen zum Wiederverwenden, bin ich über eine Anzeige von Glasbausteinen gestolpert.
Mein erster Gedanke war: " Da muss man doch was cooles draus machen können!"
Gesagt getan. Ich habe erste Entwürfe gezeichnet und mich auf die Suche nach Inspirationen gemacht. Schritt für Schritt wurde dann aus dem alten Glasbaustein, eine neue Glasbaustein- Lampe, wie Sie heute bei uns im Shop zu finden ist.
Nach ein paar weiteren Projekten wurde mir schnell klar, wie sehr mich das Ganze packt. Es ist einfach total spannend, aus alten Materialien einzigartige Produkte zu erschaffen. Am meisten fasziniert mich daran, die schier unendlichen Möglichkeiten, Objekten eine neue Form und Funktion zu geben.
Seitdem wächst unsere Werkstatt mit jedem neuen Projekt und wir sind super gespannt, was die Zukunft noch so bringt.
