Anyone Can Sew! It's Super Simple!
Whenever I meet someone new and they find out that I sew they always seem surprised! They say things like "what a neat skill!" and "I wish I could sew too!" The thing is I always tell them they can, and it's not that hard. Having said that, I do understand what it's like to feel like I could never be good enough to sew anything I would want to share with others.
When I first started sewing I was so frustrated with the fact that the things I made for myself were so ugly. I followed the instructions, I bought nice fabric, and I was as precise as possible with all my seam allowances. No matter what I did though, I never looked as cute as the girl on the cover of the pattern envelope! As I have learned more about patterns and sewing over the years I discovered this was never actually my fault! Pattern companies do not trust that new sewers can make cute and wearable pieces. So they insist that we zig zag stitch an elastic band to a 1.5 yard square and call it a skirt! Raise your hand if you have one of these...
The idea behind Super Simple Patterns is that beginners can sew, and they really want to sew things that are cute and fun and wearable! Just because a pattern or design is simple, does not mean that has to be ugly. It also doesn't mean that it shouldn't be practical! I believe that pockets are the most underrated “accessory” in any outfit, which is why I include a free pocket pattern in every pattern set.
The name says it all, these patterns are super simple, and most projects can be completed in just one day. If you are a beginning sewer these patterns will be easy enough for you to make on your own with the detailed instructions provided for each design. If you are more advanced, there are several great relaxation projects that can be put together just for fun!
Thank you for choosing to be a part of the super simple sewing community! If this is your first time sewing with a super simple pattern, WELCOME! If you've used one of my patterns before, WELCOME BACK! Let’s get started on a super simple, and super cool project.
